- Launched on 1.7.2001 to provide
social security and superannuation benefits to agriculture workers in selected
50 districts all over the country.
- To cover 10 lakh workers over
three years time.
- Provides life-cum-accident
insurance, money back, pension and superannuation benefits.
- Worker to contribute Re 1 per day and
Central Government will pay Rs 2 per day, per worker.
- Collector to designate Nodal
agency for implementation at district level, such as National Child Labour
Project society/DRDA etc. At village level implementation will be by Gram
Panchyat, Self Help Groups etc.
