       Under the overall direction and guidance of Union Labour Minister and Secretary (Labour), Labour Conference Section functions directly under the supervision of these officers
Main Activities of LC Section of Ministry of Labour

  • Composition of India's tripartite delegation to the International Labour Conference of the ILO held every year at Geneva - the Head quarters of ILO

  • Deputation of official delegation to attend the meetings of Governing Body of ILO every year, other regional conferences/meetings, technical/sectoral meetings etc.

  • Bi/multi-lateral technical cooperation projects/ programmes.

  • Foreign deputation of officials of Ministry of Labour on fellowship programmes offered by ILO and under Colombo Plan/ APO etc.

  • Bilateral exchange/ visit of delegation led by Labour Minister to friendly countries and vice versa

  • Remittance of India's annual contribution to ILO.

  • Organisation of National Conferences viz., ILC, SLC, and LMC and Regional Conferences of Labour Ministers and monitoring follow up action on conclusions thereof.

  • Organisation of meetings of representatives of CTU Organisation with LM/PM and monitor follow up action on discussions held.

  • Matters relating to nominations of labour representatives on various tripartite committees/ Boards/ councils etc set up by various Ministries/ Department of Government of India at national level.
